In terms of listening to on a consistent and regular basis for the past 20 years (since I stopped seeing the Dead on a regular basis):
Richard Thompson (including Fairport Convention, with Linda, guest slots, etc.) He's the best singer-songwriter-guitarist ... ever. (I'm not saying he's a better singer than X, or a better player than Y, just that no one has been as stunningly good at all 3 things - and I know JOTS and others can't take his voice - like Dylan and Neil).
Dylan
Neil
Ryan Adams (started back in Patty Duke Syndrome days - been a fun one to watch rise)
Kevn Kinney/Drivin' n' Cryin' (huge influence on Ryan, btw)
Trane/Miles/Monk -50s into early 60s era

Recently, Wilco is climbing...

... and since Gabriel is about to tour, and Levin is not listed in the new lineup for Crimson, I have a feeling I'll be going back to that well....

I will strongly agree: Ryan Adams and the Cardinals! I really can't stop listening to this guy/band! I have not been so captivated in a long time... Since Whiskeytown I have enjoyed his music... It has been a fun ride watching him rise.

Thanks for the post.

Then I'm sure you're like me and a few others on this forum - you listen to each new show as they pop up within a day or three of the show and you can't believe how they just keep getting better and better. Hard to keep in mind he's still in his early 30s and let's hope he's already gotten the hard living rock star drug use cliche crap in the past.

I do. He really is amazing. Jerry, Gram Parsons, Neil Young and a couple of other souls mixed in. It's amazing that I have been listening to him for almost a decade now and how I have been captivated by everything he does?!? I am listening to Demolition right now! Man!!! :)
